THE STORY OF CHARLIE >>>>THE NOT!!!! SO MINIATURE PIG
The NOT so miniature pig.
Charlie was born in 2004, and was supposed to be a miniature pig. NOT !!!!! I WAS SCAMMED. Charlie lived in the house, slept with me because it was his wish. He was a sweet good boy. We of course had him neutered, controlled his diet and he recieved plenty of exercise helping me daily do all the chores around the ranch.
However, Charlie continued to grow ALOT.
These are pictures of Charlie from 6 months to a year of age. He got quite big and at about a year of age was having trouble getting up the steps to come into the house.
We built him a pen outside with a shelter and one of the biggest dog houses on planet earth. He has his own swimming pool and was very happy to make the transition to his "Charlies Mansion" directly beside our house.
He happily continued to help me with the daily chores. He loved to visit all the miniature horses and get back scratches as he stood beside the fences.
He has become the Paradise Ranch "greeter" and shows everyone what a miniature pig is NOT. He is very proud to help out, always richly rewarded with lotza ooos and awwwws, everyone loves Charlie.
Charlie is spoiled rotten and wants you to bring a few french fries if you come to meet him, he will do anything for a french fry, LOL.
Charlie, please stop growing !
Well, he did. These pictures where taken in 2013, Charlie was 9 years old, a very MATURE, LOL, boy. He is about 28 inches tall, 41 inches long and I would guess 250 pounds of pure LOVE:)
Charlie is by standards still very small compared to a large domestic pig weighing up to 800 lbs. He knows he is not a miniature pig and that's OK with him, and me too.
I do believe I was mislead when I purchased Charlie in 2004. The good part is that I fortunately had a Mini Ranch and was able to give this big boy a great life. Many people who buy a miniature pig and it ends up not being so miniature do not have the space to provide a good home for such a pig. They then have to rehome the pig, the owners have a broken heart and so does the pig. Many too large pigs are ending up in sanctuaries because the owner was scammed and lied to. These broken hearted pigs sometime mourn for days and do not eat because they miss their piggy people parents and do not understand why they had to go. HOW SAD IS THIS:(
The good part about my experience getting my Charlie is, that I researched and found there are really miniature pigs. Few and far in-between but there is such a thing.
We now are producing some of the smallest miniature pigs on the planet, THANKS TO CHARLIE:)
CHARLIE AND THE MINIATURE PIGS.
Charlie is fascinated with the mini pigs, he will stand and stare at them. I just wonder what is going through his brain. Here are several pictures of Charlie chatting with some of the adult miniature pigs and also some wee ones.
